How it works

We recruit internationally for the brightest and best humanitarian technologists to participate in our projects.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about mobile games and their potential to fuel social change. We build teams with complementary skill sets, and thus are looking for developers, designers, project managers, researchers, and business analysts.

Ideally you would be

  • A recent university graduate
  • Passionate about technology, games, design, international affairs, development studies, human rights, social activism.
  • Eager to learn about different countries and cultures.
  • Excited to working with a diverse international team.

CEO

Angelique has 13 years of experience in technology product design, and has lived in six countries worldwide. Angelique is a professional engineer, and has degrees from McGill University (BEng), the London School of Economics (MSc), and INSEAD (MBA).

CTO

Jukka is a Finnish game developer, with over 5 years of experience developing mobile multimedia applications and middleware. After years of working at Nokia, he decided to join the startup world, and move south to Montreal from Oulu, Finland.

Daniela Yli-Kiikka
Daniela Yli-Kiikka
Creative & UX

Daniela is a Finnish game artist who joined the Decode Global Team in 2012 for a six month Fellowship, and is now a full-time member of the team. She has a degree in graphic design, and is currently finishing up her BBA, specializing in game art.

Nicole Darabian
Nicole Darabian
Marketing & Partnerships

Fluent in three languages, Nicole’s multicultural and interdisciplinary background led her to pursue international development studies with minors in international relations and management at McGill University.

Renee Jackson
Renee Jackson
Education specialist

Renee Jackson is working on her PhD in Education at Concordia University, studying videogames and education. She has 14 years of experience in education, at all levels, and in public, private and community based contexts.

Layla Belmahi
Layla Belmahi
Gender Research Intern

Layla is a Communication student at Concordia University, and an activist whose previous initiatives on social media led to socio-political reforms in Morocco. She is passionate about new technologies and their impact on social change.
